My expectation is to use this course as an opportunity to gain confidence in achieving my dream been so much interested in anything Power. and now I will be able to have knowledge about the so Called basis of Electrical engineering. GENERATION, TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION. this course is fully packed with various aspects of power system,we talk of Generation of power, means of transmitting it, material needed for Transmission and Distribution, the over head line, the underground cable and the necessary insulations. In fact it's a nice course I've been expecting ever since have been admitted into this school. 2yrs of play has gone, the REAL REAL WORK has just started. May God see us through. thanks very much for your method of lecturing sir. hi

  16. Egbin Power Plc is the largest power generating station in Nigeria with an installed capacity of 1,320 MW consisting of 6 Units of 220MW each. The station is located at Ijede / Egbin, in Ikorodu,[1] It is about 40 km north east of the city of Lagos, and is situated on low land in Ijede and bounded by the Lagoon to the south, Agura/Gberigbe to the north and situated in Ijede Local Council.

The Shiroro Power Station is a hydroelectric power plant of the Kaduna River in Niger State, Nigeria.[1][2] It has a power generating capacity of 600 megawatts (800,000 hp) enough to power over 404,000 homes.

Delta Electricity is an electricity generation company in Australia. The company was formed by the Government of New South Wales in 1996 as part of its reform of the electricity sector in the State, which saw the breakup of the Electricity Commission of New South Wales

The Geregu nuclear power plant is a twin-reactor nuclear power plant planned in Nigeria. The project foresees construction of two nuclear reactors supplied by Atomstroyexport and the plant would be located in Geregu, Kogi State. It is part of efforts to find solution to the shortage of power supply in the country

The Mambilla Power Station, one of Africa's (and Nigeria's) biggest dam projects, is a projected hydro power plant which will be connected to three dams across the Donga River in Taraba State, Nigeria.[1]
Conceived in 1982, the main Mambilla Dam is a large rolled compact concrete dam and reservoir at 1,300 metres (4,300 ft) above sea level. From this dam water is diverted off the reservoir towards the western side of the plateau through 3 hydraulic tunnels totaling 33 kilometres (21 mi), intercepted by 2 smaller dams (Sum Sum Dam and Nghu Dam), both at an elevation of 1,250 metres (4,100 ft).

Beyond these dams, the tunnels lead into a 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) drop shaft tunneled down through the rock to a massive underground powerhouse with a generating capacity of 3,050 megawatts (4,090,000 hp).[2] Via a short tunnel, the water then exits the base of the plateau and flows into a tributary river that rejoins the Donga River downstream of the plateau.

Omotosho I and II Power Station Nigeria is located at Ondo, Nigeria. ... This infrastructure is of TYPE Gas Power Plant with a ... Configuration of Boiler/Turbine/Gen.

Kainji dam is one of Nigeria’s oldest dams generating roughly 500 megawatts of electricity in 2017 for a nation with a population around 170 million! A dam located in Kainji, Niger State, Nigeria. Opened in 1968 with a construction cost of about $209 million. A dam of 8 turbines that gets its water supply from Kainji Lake with total installed capacity of 960 megawatts. Kainji Lake itself has a surface water level of approximately 1,243 Km2 with a maximum depth of 12.1 meters.

Due to the dam’s near zero hydroelectricity generation for a population of close to 170 million, 40% of which is majorly off the national grid, it became imperative for Drillbytes to drive the matter further and in doing this, the column sought the opinion of an international expert in power generation, transmission and distribution to seek for ways in which the dam and such others like Jebba and Shiroro can be a source of joy to Nigerians, a very much welcome relief from the current status of nightmare.

    Power station: Papalanto Power Plant
    Community: Abeokuta, Ogun State
    Coordinates: 6° 53' 51" N 3° 12' 25.5600" E
Type: Gas Turbine Combined Cycle Power Station
    Capacity: 335MW
    Status: Operational

The Jebba Power Station is a hydroelectric power plant of the Niger River in Nigeria. It has a power generating capacity of 540 megawatts enough to power over 364,000 homes The hydroelectric power plant was completed in 1984. The Jebba Power Station is located 64 miles from the Kainji Dam

I expect that at the end of this course I should have apt understanding and the fundamental knowledge of the principles and processes that generation and distribution of electrical power entails. Moving from an abstract observer to a professional-in-making, I want, at the end of the course, to be able to predict the causes of faults (if they arise) and profer practical solutions to them in areas concerning electrical power distribution.
